my first big hike with my little girl. about 5 out of the 7 miles we did she was on my shoulders but it was still a lot of fun. just prepared me for a heavy backpack on my shoulders.

went out to oso flaco beach (near gaudalupe) with a good old friend. had fun shooting the sunset.
09-10-11 jalama beach camping
had a blast camping with the family at jalama beach. horse shoes, shoots and latters, camp fires, jiffy pop and playing on the beach were some of the highlights.
07-31-11 altocumulus sunset
had to grab the camera and head out to take some photos of this great sunset complemented by some cool altocumulus clouds. don't tell anyone, i snapped the last photo in my side mirror while driving, hey I was on an empty back road.
07-23-11 “CA donuts” shoot
snapped some photos while helping my friends during the shoot of a short comedy taking place at a very cool donut shop in san luis obispo. a lot of laughs were had and a lot of confused customers came in as we shot between 1am and 4am. very tiring but fun.

after an awesome honeymoon we were very happy to be back home, mainly to see our much missed daughter. if you look closely in the lower center of the photo you can see some little lights peeking through the clouds, that's los angeles

had to go visit the beach one last time before we left. stitched together quite a few shots to make this pano.
05-09-11 honeymoon, el rey mayan ruins
very interesting visit to el rey mayan ruins in cancun. there were a lot of big lizards guarding the ruins and it was hot in this area!
05-08-11 honeymoon, water front dinner
our "honeymoon dinner" with a beautiful view of the ocean. towards the end of our dinner while i was snapping some shots i hear from behind me "excuse me, is that the 30D", "why yes" i reply, "I could tell from the shutter sound!" he replied haha. a very nice couple our age was also on their honeymoon from texas. so i asked the man (jonny) to take our photo, seen in the last one, and i took theirs.
05-07-11 honeymoon, moon palace golf resort
had an awesome time golfing at "moon palace golf resort" designed by jack nicklaus. we used our "resort credits" from our trip to pay, other wise we would never play at such a nice course. at one point we were told by a staff member "you know this course is for professionals" we laughed and had fun.

the first morning after arriving in cancun i was awoken at 5am to an orange glow coming into our room. i jumped up out of bed and snapped a number of shots of this amazing sunrise. it was quite breath taking. then i went back to bed.

05-03-11 honeymoon, cancun beach
as ready as i was for the beautiful beaches my jaw still dropped when i saw them. defiantly my favorite part of the trip was the white sands and bright blue warm water.
05-02-11 honeymoon, flight to cancun
drove to LA the following morning of our awesome wedding and flew out to cancun the next morning. defiantly the most exciting flight i've taken!
04-16-11 backpacking, manzana river
my first backpacking trip. what an experience. i loved it. we parked at nira campgrounds and hiked out to a meadow not seen from the trail that our friend lead us to, about 6.5 miles in. we set up camp and cooked some delicious steaks. without a tent, it was great sleeping under the stars. the next morning we made some breakfast, packed up some day packs and hit the trail along the manzana again. we got to white ledge and up on hurricane deck. then we made it to some real old indian cave paintings (seen in 2nd to last). last photo was taken with my camera on timer mode propped up on some rocks. we hike it all the way back that night. about 6 miles done by the moon light, crossing the river many many times. while i can't wait to go again, i don't think i'll ever bring my DSLR. Our packs were very heavy and that did not help at all. We did a total of 24 miles. i got a lot of great video off my ipod touch (video coming soon).
04-09-11 SF bachelor
my best buds took me up to the bay for the weekend for an amazing bachelor party. was super glad my brother was there, my best man surprised me by being there and we met up with an old friend. we stayed at a cool place called grosvenor suites and roamed the streets like the crazy hooligans we are. last two photos were taken somewhere outside of san jose at a stop on our way home.
03-21-11 after the storm
the central coast got hit with a ton of rain in just one day. caused some flooding. this is the river east of santa maria that is often dry.
03-18-11 off hwy 101, cen. ca.
had to take a quick trip up to Salinas. On the way home the storm clouds started to roll in. In the middle of no where, I took a quick turn onto a little road off of hwy 101 to snap a few photos.
03-05-11 NCAA basketball, tv production
a lot of work and a lot of fun. worked as a technical director for the USCB vs Cal Poly men's NCAA basketball game, in Santa Barbara. Shown live on KCOY CBS 12.

during shaylee's 3rd birthday party she got this purple purse as a gift, my grandfather, her great grandfather, our gramps then gave her a small coin pouch that belonged to my grandmother, our nana who passed away last year. these are now some of my favorite shots i've got!
01-29-11 SBIFF, James Franco
I was fortunate enough to score a press pass to the 2011 Santa Barbara International Film Festival. I went on the second night to get some shots of James Franco who was receiving the Outstanding Performance of the year award for "127 Hours". Last shot is of the film critic Leonard Maltin. This isn't my type of photography but I had a great time with this new experience. and thanks Tom!

01-28-11 afternoon ride
rode my supermoto out to guadalupe via hwy 1 on a nice afternoon. didn't do any off-roading as it may appear. while on the ride I found a couple great spots to shoot some portraits. i've never enjoyed scouting locations so much!
01-23-11 Golden Gate + Sunset
well, I couldn't not go to the golden gate bridge during my visit to the bay. but I will say that this will be the last time i'll shoot the bridge for a long time, unless there is a great reason to : ] The sunset shots were taken at the bridge look out point, looking west.
01-22-11 SF city
my fiance received a free night's stay at the "inn at union square" in SF. so we headed up north for a great but quick weekend getaway. had some fun driving around taking pictures. on our way to fisherman's wharf we encountered a pro-life march, angie took that shot! then some delicious food at "pier 23".

so i thought it would be fun to take some shots of shaylee playing with the hose on a warm afternoon. well after firing a few shots she turned on me and sprayed me and my camera! the second shot is her turning the hose on me. i dried my camera/lens off right away and it was fine.

my 2 year old daughter is officially a photographer. I put my dslr on the tripod at her level and she puts her eye to the eyepiece, finds the shutter button and fires away! she loves doing it.

on the way home, down big bear mountain we discovered this awesome rainbow and pulled over. I couldn't get the whole thing in the frame with my 50mm so I snapped 7 shots and stitched them together. (without a tripod!)

12-06-12 golden gate bridge, horseshoe bay, night
had a blast doing these long exposures in "horseshoe bay" just north east of the bridge. The first two are 30 second exposures, the third an 88 second and the 4th a panoramic (all 30 secs.)

my second time seeing and shooting the golden gate bridge. it amazes me! i don't care if it's a trendy place to shoot, i love seeing it and being near it.shot with a borrowed efs 10-22mm and my 50mm. photo of the nikon camera is my brother's.
12-05-10 SF public transportation
my brother took me for my first public transportation tour of SF. rode the muni train, bart train and a couple buses. i was completely overwhelmed! wouldn't have gotten anywhere if i was by myself. best part was going to the mission district for some awesome mexican food. these photos were taken while we were waiting for the muni in front of giants stadium.
11-12-10 “friday night blitz” set backdrop design and painting
for now I don't have a category for set design so this goes in photoshop..this was a big project both in physical size and length in time. jay (seen in last photo) and I spent three weeks on this 14' x 7.5' backdrop. from designing the piece originally in photoshop (first image), to long hours measuring, taping and painting.
obviously the colors didn't come out quite as planned but i'm still happy with this big accomplishment.

10-31-10 halloween
my daughter was snow white for halloween. last week we carved this "dora" pumpkin. her first time trick or treating, very fun halloween! also laci, my parents yellow labrador. very rarely have I been using flash but I did for all of these. I really want a gary fong dome diffuser if i'm going to be using anymore flash.

rode the long board to the cemetery to leave some flowers for my grandmother. it was a beautiful day and she was a beautiful woman.

the marine layer took a break and gave me a clear night so i shot these late at night. the shot on the left is with my 50mm at 8sec exposure and on the right is shot at 420mm at 3 mins using my remote trigger.
